Red face Engine got Hot on Highway

Yesterday I was driving my 2006 S Type R model on the Interstate and noticed that my tempature gage was showing hot. I pulled off of the highway and raised the hood, and smelled antifreeze. Got it to a station, added water and noticed that it was coming out at the rear of the engine. I could see where it was driping by lloking under the car but could not locate a hose or where it was leaking. Has anyone had this happen to them? Had to get it towed home.

I added water today and it just pores out at the rear of the engine block, but stll cannot locate what has happened. Help would be appreciated. I only have 47,000 miles on vehicle. Thank you.

It would appear that you have the dreaded hose fail under the supercharger. This has been discussed numerous times...

New to the forum, so didn't know that. It sounds like an expense fix?

+1 on that, hopefully it didn't get too hot.
There is a lot of info on the site a lot of which you may not be able to access as a newbie.
Maybe you should post in the New Members section?

Yes, expensive... about $1,000 on average - mostly labor.

Thank you for your reply. I just needed some feedback regarding the issue at hand. It does appear to be the hose under the supercharger. I thought it might be something else, but probably not so. I will have it towed next week to a shop in Plano Texas and have it repaired. Looks like it will be some where North of $1,000 for fix. I do not want to tackle it myself at it looks to be complicated from what I have read. Thank you again. Don

If you are going to the shop belonging to member Motorcarman, Bob Gauff, in Plano, you are in good hands.

Thanks for the suggestion. Had it towed to that shop yesterday. He is giving 10% off labor charge for a first visit. Appreciate the pointer. Don

It's not the 10% (which is a bonus) so much as that he knows what he's doing
