EPB differences between years
03 S-type R
Hi there, I have a problem with my park brake. the EPB fault message stays on the dash and I can't hear the EPB motor working. If I disconnect the battery then reconnect and go through the cycle of trying to apply the brake, I can hear the park brake motor working but I don't see the cables moving -- then the error appears and stays on the dash (the motor doesnt sound right, possibly the gears not engaging correctly, but it's hard to tell for certain)..... when underneath the car I couldn't quite see but I believe all the cables are in working order -- i reached up and lightly pulled the cables down which pulled the caliper lever on both sides...... so I assume the cables are in working order.......
I have an option of pulling a 07 S type EPB motor from a wreckers yard. Is there any difference between the years motors? I haven't pulled mine so I'm not quite sure what it looks like or how it works....
Thank you

Seems to be a difference between STR and Non STR.
What the difference is, is unknown.
Example of other options. C2C38667
Genuine OEM C2C38667 - Jaguar Handbrake (C2C38667) part for Xj 2003 - 2009 (from G00442 To H32732) Classic. Authentic Jaguar Part.

It's good news that it's not stuck on!
Access to the motor is (I have read) awful. Good luck.
You can power it direct (briefly) as has been mentioned in some post (sorry, didn't note which). Via a fuse, would be best...
