Default Front wheel liner loose

On my 02 S type the front wheel liner in front of both wheel are pulled away from the fenders. It has some kind of clamp thing that is broken. How does it work to hold it and where can I get some to replace them. Thanks

No clamp I can see? The wheel liner is plastic and the lower Areo-Tabs get broken when you hit curbs. Usually the only fix is to buy new from the dealer.

Mine are the same. we're not talking about the 'aero-tabs'. If you are looking at the drivers' side front wheel, about 9:30-ish (as I recall, but I'm not looking at it right at this moment) there's some sort of ABS/Plastic 'block' behind the fender liner, with a screw into it from the outside. this 'block' is clearly designed to affix somehow to the fender, so that the liner can be screwed to it. But mine (on both sides) are loose and flapping, with the result being a gap where one can peer into the back-side of the fender-liner between the 8:30 and 10:00 positions.

I must "fixed" my sister's Mercedes with this same problem like two weeks ago. What I did was drill two holes through the plastic liner so that I could thread a zip-tie through it, then I closed the zip tie to the closest part of the car's structural body that I could find that allowed the liner to go back where it supposed to go. Total cost of repair was probably less than a nickel.

There's a lot of different fixings used on the wheel arch liners:

The Parts Manual list and illustration may help identify the missing items.

It looks like the mounting bracket # 3 in the diagram picture it's attached to the liner with no way I can see it fasten to the fender to hold it. Thought about cleaning it good and silicone caulk it and drill and use some small plastic push pin plugs in it. Thanks GGG for the diagram picture.

I believe what you are needing is number 40 in the cataloque illustration. Item clips to the inside of the bumper cover, and holds a j-nut for the wheelarch liner fastener.

Cheers,

Cheers,
that looks correct! So how does it clip to the bumper cover?

If it's the one I think, looked at edge on it's a U shape i.e. folded over metal and just pushes over the bumper edge. It's then held there due to the screw passing through it, which passes through the bumper as well. (Mine are all rusted up and a pain to get off.)

Look at this:

Might you be referring to these? These have the screw that attaches to the wheel well liner and they attach to the bumper cover... one on each side.

And here is what it looks like on the front bumper. The only issue I could see is if the moulding on the front bumper to which the clip attaches is broken.
