Default Fuel pump not working

(Jaguar s-type v6 2004) Recently, my jaguar didn’t turn on. The mechanics said the fuel pump was damaged, I changed the pump, bought a generic one but just worked for a few days. Apparently the pump was damaged again, and probably the generic one did not work as well, I bought the same generic one again just to make sure If it will or will not work with that one. Again, just in like a week it stopped working. Do you guys know where to buy a fuel pump that will work good for my jag?

I think I would install the correct fuel pump?
Have you looked on EBay there seem to be several.

Which pump went bad as there are 2 in your car.
Can you DIY it as there is a special tool to remove the retaining ring on top of the tank.

It's an '04 V6. Isn't that a single pump? I thought only the supercharged models had two pumps.

As you have already learned, stay away from the generic stuff. Some of the no-name white box stuff is pure unadulterated crap. Sorry I can't give you a specific source, but go with a name-brand like Delphi, Carter, etc.

Are you replacing just the pump or the entire fuel pickup/float assembly? I vaguely remember somebody having trouble with the external tubing on the module. He had changed just the pump but one of the lines was leaking. Even though the pump itself was working just fine, the leak was dumping the pressure right back into the tank.

I am pretty sure all S-Type have 2 pumps?
Here is the JTIS picture.

I thought the difference was the SC STR had two pumps feeding the engine directly while all other versions had a jet pump that was only used to keep both sides of the fuel tank level even and one pump just to pump fuel to the engine.
I guess that is really one dedicated fuel pump since if the jet pump goes out you can drive the car until that side of the gas tank is drained.

That's my understanding, too.
