You have been misinformed. The 2003 to 2008 S-Type models all use the same ZF 6HP26 transmissions. As has been previously stated in this thread, if you drive them with the fluid underfilled you are going to create major problems....

 

+1 same gearbox, doesn't really have much in the way of common problems and are fairly cheap to fix
