Default Goodbye STR

Well, I traded in my 2003 S-type R this weekend on a very well taken care of 2005 Audi A8.

While I won't miss the tempermentalness of the Jaguar I did really enjoy my years behind the seat; when the going was good, it was really good. Alas, it was cropping up issues faster than I could handle them unless I spent every dollar and every hour working on her myself.

Good luck to all you guys sticking out here with your S-types, they truly are great cars.

Ohsigmachi - you've been a good member here and I'm sorry to hear you're moving on. I know you've had good times n bad with your STR but the good memories win out I'll bet!
As you say though, dollar wise time to get out.

The Audi A8 is an awesome piece of machinery you lucky dog and one I'm sure you'll really enjoy!

Please don't be a stranger here.....you'll always be welcome to come here, show off your new ride, tell us whats good, post up some pics and generally catch up.

If you haven't already checked them out, you could try www.audiforums.com
They are also an Internet Brand forum and one I have used, albeit I tend to frequent the UK site more.

All the best buddy

Check out quattroworld.com also. I had a D2 A8 for a while. I actually had more problems with that then I did my STR. Getting the D3 A8 you may be better off because you dont have the horrible ZF 5HP24A trans that is insanely unreliable and is running on thin ice at 100000 miles. The D3's definitely had a huge upgrade in style and components. Awesome car and enjoy luxury cruising. Those things are so smooth I almost got one when I got my STR, it was on my list but could never find one exactly how I wanted it. Did you end up with an L or a short wheelbase? Post up some pics if you get a chance and enjoy.

I frequent audiforums.com as well since my second car is an A6 although not as much as this site. I have noticed that several members have both a Jaguar and an Audi and visit both sites.

Good luck, but I wouldn't count on that car being any less temperamental, frustrating or time and money consuming.

Good luck, Ohsigmachi. Drop in to JF from time to time and let us know how it's going.
Try sliding into the Audi in FRONT of the seat and see if it doesn't minimize the temperment of the thing
