Unhappy Headlight issues

hi all, the headlights on my S-type V8 keep intermittently cutting out and then coming back on, any thoughts?

It may prove helpful if you were to provide vehicle MY and the conditions the vehicle is being operated in when the headlamps stop working.

Hi there, my Jaguar is a 2004 S-type V8. The headlamps flash off for a couple of seconds when operating on the manual setting. Also happens when I use the indicators occasionally. I tend not to use the auto on setting but have done in the past.

Again, what are the conditions the vehicle is being operated under when the 'headlamps flash off for a couple of seconds'??

Does this occur when driving on rough roads; during a rainstorm; when the ambient temperature drops or rises beyond a certain level?

Have you checked the wiring loom to the headlamps for damage? Has there been any work performed to the front of the vehicle?

Good idea.

Perhaps putting the vehicle information such as MY, engine and so forth in the signature is something all new members must be encouraged to complete to save time when requesting help from the forum.

Ok, thanks for that. The driving conditions when it happens are what I would describe as normal motorway and suburban conditions. Not during rain or poor weather, just normal. Sometimes while indicating on the motorway, or just driving down a suburban street. The wiring looks ok and there hasn't been any damage or work to the front of the car. Brett.

If it's manual meaning the stalk I'd suspect the stalk itself / its wiring.

Sounds vibration related and even ordinary roads are not very smooth.

Next suspect is probably the module.

Pray it's not the loom behind the front bumper!

I had a similar problem on my '04 STR. Got a multifunction switch (the turn signal stalk) off ebay for $50 or less, swapped out and problem vanished.
