heat not working but a/c runs cold as ice??
I can't remember the last time I sawJag Genius posting.
I would start by disconnecting the lines to your heater core and trying to flush water through in both directions let us know how that goes.

Have you done any work with the cooling system recently? Without knowing what kind of car or engine or info, its harder to diagnose. It could be leaking coolant, low on coolant, have an air pocket, or a myriad of other issues.
as someone that works for a dealer, your DCCV valve is stuck closed, replace it. But you can always go to the real
s t e a l e r s..you know the ones that say they know your car but really dont. And then spend your money and time and break your stuff cause they dont know how to take it apart or diag it

partsgeek.com, iirc $65-230. I put the cheap one on my GF stype in Jan. So far so good.
On your friend, it may be the ACCM(auto climate control module, which is the ac faceplate assembly or a remote unit if you have navigation) So that would be a good guess. The problem with that is this, the ACCM being burned on the ground driver(1 or 2 or both) is that it is ALWAYS a symptom caused by a bad DCCV. So replace or repair it without changing the DCCV and itll do it again. wasted time, wasted money..
You have to pinout with a DVOM the 2 circuits to the DCCV while operating the temp control from ac to heat and monitor voltage on the circuits accessed through the left side of the dash. SO If you replace the DCCV be sure and check that the circuits are not blown too. If they are, repair 1 or both. NOw that all being said, many times roughly half or even less have damage to the ACCM. Be sure and blow through the heater lines while disconnected to blow out any crud.
