Welcome to the forum Jaydee,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to S-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Wiring diagrams here, scroll down to section 6.1:

Which side is not working?

For the left side, check fuse F30 in the front power distribution box.

For the right side, check fuse F25.

Also note the two relays, R21 for the right, and R17 for the left. Try swapping them and see if the problem changes sides.

One more thought, from a lazy man's perspective. Instead of digging through the dash to find the connectors for the windshield heaters, remove relays R17 and R21 from the front power distribution box.

From each relay socket, measure the resistance to ground from terminal 5. I don't know what the specs should be, but if one side is working, the other side should be nearly the same. This will test the wire from the relay to the heating element, the heating element itself, and the ground wire from the heating element.

Default Progress

Well, thanks to your advice I have some progress. (It is the left half of the screen that is not working) I checked fuses and both good, took relays out and did resistance check to ground from pin 5. Left relay RL17 pin 5 to ground is open cct while right relay RL21 pin 5 to ground has continuity therefore fault must be from relay to screen. Does anyone know how to access the connector to the screen so I can voltage/continuity check there?
thanks in advance
