HELP!! 2000 S-type Engine?

I have a 2000 S-type with a 3.0 and after driving it for around a year a main bearing spun and detroyed the whole bottom end. I got it re-built (for $16,000[:-][:'(]) now after another 10K it is starting to make the same noise as last time and in fear of another $16,00 bill I am here looking for any Engine swap ideas or any other ideas / options. Thanks in advance.

It was about 2K past their warranty, and after months of fighting I gave up. That is one of the options I was thinking of but I have very little faith in the 3.0 any other ideas? I was trying to find a used 4.0 or even an engine swap kit to put a common ford/chev ect. in.
I secretly would love to find a dead s-type and stick a Ford 4.6 in it. Maybe even sticking in a 6 speed tremec.
Converting it to a 4.6 would not be that hard nor expensive compared to regular Jag replacement.
I'd love to have a really "tough" Jag that I could beat on. Imagine an s-type showing up for a local drifting competition....full V8 sound and tires wailing for help. Then when you are done and you step out of the car in a business suit and helmet. Ha!

I've seen the old 5.0 pushrod in the older XJ6 bodies. The 5.0 is narrower, but is pushrod. Bulletproof but the 4.6 seems more "Jag". Although if your state/locale has lax emissions a nice carb swap would be dead easy with a 5.0.
