I was at the pharmacy about a week ago and I was waiting for a prescription to be filled.
I was bored so I was just browsing the aisles. I see this old man with a cane drop something so I reach down to get it for him. He thanks me and we meet eyes, and I realize it's my old middle school principal...

I was amazed, Till I realized That's it's been the better part of 23 years since I last stepped foot in that school.

I guess it will all catch up to us eventually.

Take care,

George

At least you didn't hear her thinking "Poor old man looks like my granddad" =)

Can't go take a recent pic at the moment but I'm just shy of 51,000 in my '05 S type 4.2, got it for Valentine's day with about 49k on it.. Daily driver, wretched commute..

A diesel engine, as in the S-type 2.7D, if not abused, and if oil and filter changed regularly, should be good for about a third of a million miles. Mine's done 122,000 so far, in less than 5 years.

I've had my '06 S Type for a year. I bought it with 28,000 miles and now have 43,000. I had an early issue with the catalytic converter that was covered under warranty. Since then, this car has been perfect. A gal in my office bought a new Hyundai the same week I picked up this car. She paid more! What a deal.

That's great! I thought I might have overpaid by a few grand for mine and thus was pissed, until my employee told me what he paid for his brand new Ford Taurus. I just about fell out of my chair...I shall never complain about paying 30 grand for my car again lol.

Default Recent Purchase & Few Hiccups

2005 S Type 4.2
Recently purchased and a pleasure to drive. Car was one owner, always garaged and hardly driven. A beautiful by car inside and out.

But have already had some costly repairs and hope this will not be a trend. In six months, throttle body and mount replaced after car went into limp mode with P-codes, then coolant leaking from hose near intake manifold onto gasket / drive belt and now need new bushings. It is 12 years old and I realize rubber hoses plastics do wear.

They do wear/age. For codes etc this forum encourages people to Search to see what others did and post the codes in case we can save lots of $$$ by avoiding more parts changing than is needed.

Thanks for the tip and advice. The last large costly fix didn't have a code - just low coolant level but normal engine temp. But coolant all over engine when able to pull over and check. Mechanic changed most of the rubber coolant lines just in case.
