I think I might do it opinions...
I think I may paint the calipers on my STR. I have a quartz one with chrome wheels so I'm debating on going a little flashy with either red or yellow. I think the red would look the best. I can get stickers made to replace the Jaguar R on the brembos right now so I was thinking of putting a small leaper with "Racing" underneath in black. What do you guys think? Heres a Ferrari with a similar color combo except the chrome. Cant find a grey with yellow. They will be sprayed with a gun and then clearcoated over the stickers. Opinions please... good or bad.

Hey Vance, nice ride you got there

I'd say the RED will look awesome with that colour combo, yellow? Maybe not so much!
Please keep us posted on what you decide and pics ofcourse if you go ahead for the "after" views and comments
I am thinking red too. Everytime I look at it red just screams at me. I'm trying to find a paint supplier in my town this weekend and will be looking at getting some paint hopefully. Then my friend cuts vinyl for signs and racing stripes and such. All I got to do is give him dimensions and the pic and he can cut it out for me and mail it to me. So I'll probably be doing this in the next few weeks. Pics will definitly be posted. Has anyone even painted there calipers a different color then stock? I've search everywhere and have nothing in the forums. Will I be the first?
No spitfire just painted his stock silver to red, looks really nice. Look more in the exterior and detail section of this forum.
Keep in mind that Ferraris are hardly ever driven and not any place that's dirty. The yellow will show dirt like crazy the red a little less so. Have you thought about a metalic black with the contrasting stickers? It doesn't flash as much from a distance but up close it looks great and ... it hides the dirt really well. I assume you know that they make a specialty aftermarket paint for calipers?

I think red would look good, that G2 paint works fabulous if you dont want to spend the $$$ on getting it professionally done.
The red hides dirt pretty well, and all it takes is a quick wipedown with a cloth and the grime comes right off, especially with the "enamel/plasticy" like finish the G2 paint has. My Porsche red brembos always looked shiny and clean, I put hi-temp black Porsche decals on them.
There is a guy on ebay uk selling the brake decal "R" logo that is exactly the same as what our stocks come with. I inquired and he said he could get rid of the green in the decal and replace it with another color, I was going to order black.
Ive been there, done that with the red calipers, everything on my car is Black and green, I think it would look out of place. I am contimplating green with black decal, or a "titanium" color. One of my many projects to get done.

I wont be getting it professionally done. I have an air compressor and a HVLP paint gun so I'll be doing it myself just wanted to get professional grade paint. I think the red is gonna be the color I go with. I saw spitfires post and his turned out really nice. I was just wondering if anyone has painted their brembos yet. I realizing the cleaning involved but I already wash my car twice a week and wax it once a month and I sit on the ground with a toothbrush to clean my calipers now so the color change wont really change anything. I used to have yellow calipers on my black Marauder and liked the look but it sucked in the winter with the salt since I was living in Michigan at that time. I will post up some before during and after shot once I decide on doing the G2 which I've looked at or going the route with the paint clear from a gun.
Nice is that the one made by Dupli-color I believe the Dupli-color is what I used on my Marauder and it lasted about 4 year but that was through some harsh winters also.

Stuff blends together almost as you apply it, no brush strokes WHATSOEVER, throw a few coats on and it does come out amazing.
Looking good man.
Well finally got my decals so I can order the G2 paint system and hopefully get it done on Labor day weekend. Played around with paintshop and made a pic with red and one with yellow. Now the yellow might be growing on me a little. Any more suggestions after seeing it. Also the decals will be black it will say Jaguar with a leaper. I couldn't get the Jaguar Racing like I wanted cause it would of been way too small and wouldn't cut on my buddies plotter.
So everyone still think red.

No its not. I'm gonna be using the G2 paint system so here is a link to my color options.

1. leave it alone.
2. do your mock up with the blue or gold.
Their colors are very bright day-glo style. IMHO that's not Jag's style.
A carbon fiber look might be interesting. Now go find out how to do that ... ;>))
Or ... black chrome.

I'm going to agree with Staatsof on this one. I do think that a little subtlety is in order. Just my two cents, but I'm not really fond of that bright yellow. The red ones are ok. I do agree, if you could do some type of dark metallic blue, dark metallic green, silver or metallic black would be awesome. I only see 11 colors on the G2 website for the caliper paint. I don't know if they have more colors or if there are other paints out there that would work. A PMS paint color match would be awesome. Then you could pick out the perfect hue to match you cars paint color. I'll look at some when I'm at work tomorrow and give you an idea of what I think. I just don't have a PMS color book here. I was reading around about some guys mixing the paint on type to customize the color they wanted. If you go that route be aware that the paint will dry darker than when it's applied and after the calipers get hot a few times. I think they said they used Dupli-Color.
