Hi can someone identify & let me know what this does,it is making an Intermitent clicking noise, thanks

That's part of the EVAP system, it's suppose to click. Do you have any stored codes.

A fair idea of whether all is OK is to get an OBD tool with live data such as an elm327 ($10 or so) then look at the monitor status followed by the fuel trims.

That's your pulse width modulated Canister Purge Valve. It thumps when it purges the charcoal canister. Normal thing.
