I'm new to this
Hi I'm Paul have 3L s type auto jag my reverse won't work will rev up all other gears work is there a easy fix or is it garage and if any one would no roughly how much would cost to fix any help much appreciate thank u
OK - your shift cable could be stretched - can be adjusted from the shifter - search how to adjust it here on the forum or get JTIS. Otherwise, could be a solenoid issue - which would require a competent transmission shop. Stay away from Ammco, etc.
This is a common Ford 5 speed transmission (5R55N)
Has the fluid/filter ever been changed that you know of? If the answer is "no" or "I don't know" this should be a given as well, even if the shift cable is the cause of your no reverse issue...

Not really a job for a Jag dealer - it'll be expensive and they may well just get an autobox firm to do it, so you may as well go direct.

If the fluid level is normal and the shift cable is secure, there is likely an internal fault with the valve body or the solenoids requiring disassembly and inspection.
A shop specialising in automatic gearboxes can likely provide an estimate should an overhaul be necessary.
