A couple of glaring mistakes in that table. I wouldn't trust it...

MAXLIFE ATF is perfect for the Ford gearbox but not for the ZF

Since the ZF Lifeguard has come down to the $19-$20/Liter price I just use that. You will only buy a few liters over the life of the car.

Now when Lifeguard was $50+/liter then I looked for other fluids.

I'll buy ATF from that table and let you know if anything goes wrong.

With the price of ZF Lifeguard6 coming down significantly, you may want to reconsider using the ZF fluid. The cost of overhauling one of these gearboxes is substantial and used ones are dodgy at best.

Will depend on what's different, won't it? Sort of meaningless question.

To be a bit more direct, using the wrong ATF can result in damage to
the friction discs as a first candidate, and then the rest of the
mechanism.

You seem to have a 2003 V6. The specification booklet calls for
Shell M1375.4

If you plug

Shell M1375.4 maxlife

into a search engine, then you can do your own research and
come to your own conclusions.
