I agree with clubairth1 and think your original problem was a power issue. If you did not have the proper power maintenance on the battery when doing the reprogramming, this is what happens. Why were you reprogramming the TCM at all or was this some pure side effect of what you were programming?

Yes side effect, i've configured CCM (not reprogramming, sorry ) but during updating VID (automatic operagion... sob!!), the tcm produced the error p0610 (reprogram tcm module).
I've used a mongoose interface (not good for this car, infact i can't reprogram tcm). Now i've bought a VCM original (genuine) made in USA 078, but i need cables.
I'm waiting cambo to accordance about usb cable.

 

Why were you reprogramming the ECU/CCM in the first place? I would doubt there were any updates on the car that you did not already have.I have done some reprogramming and updates on a number of S-types and XF cars and never ran into that problem and using a cloned mongoose cable. scottjh9 has had some interesting experience when his laptop went off in the middle of his programming. You might write him and see if you can recover the way he did.

Ok, I'll try to contact him. Anyway I tried to reprogram the TCM and ECM module ... (with power supply, super charged battery etc ..) Apparently it reprograms, but the error remains! I don't trust the mongoose cable, I think the only solution is VCM. 10 years ago I had the same problem, with the VCM I solved it by reprogramming TCM.

 

You need to reflash the TCM.

If I didn't mention before, reflash the ECM, then the TCM in that order with a 50 amp ripple free power supply on battery with windows down and all doors closed and trunk also!

 

Ok, i have this power supply. I try to reflash ecm and tcm with your indications... but i have a question, can i use mongoose? With existent module ids option?

 

Just use the mongoose and see if can see what is going on with the car. If it identifies you model and Vin on ts own that tells you it is probably working. I would walk around your IDS a touch with the cable attached and see how it reads running date. If that seems fine- run on with it.

if you start a new sdd session and it looks wonky, go to a previous session where all is ok and start your programming....that is what i had to do when i lost laptop power in the middle of a tcm reflash....a new session would not recover because the sdd would not recognize half programmed modules ....the older good session worked perfect

 

To restore the correct data without the old session, you need to manually enter the VIN. The IDS has all the useful information about my car. Mongoose cable, correctly identified my VIN, prior to this problem. Now it doesn't identify the VIN. I think the correct operation is reflash ECM, TCM (option in IDS is reflash existent module? New module or special operations?). I have not tried the operation with the doors closed, the windows down, the hood closed.
