Question Jaguar STR - oil disappeared

Hi
Is it normal for 4.2 SC that after about 6K kilometers, about 3 liters of oil disappeared from the engine? I do not have any leaks. The exhaust pipe does not smoke white. I do not smell burned oil in the exhaust. I took out one coil today and checked the spark plug - it is not soaked only a delicate bright coating. As I checked the oil level this morning, I turned pale - the dipstick was dry like a pepper. I added almost 3 liters of oil to the maximum level. I did not notice that the engine worked differently, louder, the oil pressure indicator was silent. I heard that SC engines can spit a lot of oil by crankcase ventilation, but somewhere this oil must eventually be burned? I changed the oil 5 months ago (5W30) and after 6K kilometers, 3 liters disappeared without a trace? I think that such a big loss in such a short time if it was burnt by the engine would probably be noticeable?

Yes - I am sure that there is no leaks from engine. When I was changing oil I replaced new oil pan gasket and oil cooler orings.

Very strange...that is alot of oil to burn...did you check the exhaust pipe by sticking your finger and swiping inside...if it went through the combustion cycle, i i would think there would be slick residue not just soot

By chance did you plug the oil coolers and lines when you replaced the o rings....just thinking about all scenarios

Yes I connect oil lines. In exhaust pipe is only soot - its dry like oil dipstick this morning . It is very strange - its a lot of oil disappeared without visible traces.

If there's no indication to give you a clue, I think I'd be inclined to top off the oil to the correct level, remove the belly pan and monitor the level and underside of the car carefully over the next few weeks
and see what happens.

I think i know what happened....if when you replaced the oil cooler o rings the oil in the lines and cooler probably drained out...the oil and filter change amount reflects draining the oil pan and filter...the oil cooler and lines stay full until disconnected....the amount to refill them would be about 3 liters i would guess....after you did your repairs, how much oil did you put in

That's what I did - I added oil and I will watch because nothing else comes to mind.

This is not it - there is no chance that there would be up to 3L of oil. I poured 6.5L and it was half between MAX and MIN. Yesterday I poured into the MAX a total of 3.5L so the amount is correct.

Does anyone know where the Crankcase Vent Valve tube is coming (from the passenger side valve cover) ? It disappears from the back of the engine near the bulkhead and I do not know where to go next?

All i meant was the oil drained out of the cooler and lines....it is not accounted for in an oil change....maybe someone else can explain it better....the breather hose goes to the throttle body, it is hard to see without removing the windshield cowl and brace...i am out of suggestions....good luck...and with these cars there is a chance for anything to happen

ok I appreciate and thank you for all the suggestions - I will now watch the bully more carefully and see how quickly the oil will disappear.

Did the shop inspect the breather system?

Did they also remove all eight ignition coils and inspect the spark plug wells?

Is the MIL on and if so, what DTCs are stored?
