Looking for help on jlr ids sdd mongoose
Hello everyone
hopefully someone would be kind enough to offer some advice on this
As some of you know I am getting ready to move to the United Kingdom in the middle of August for a couple of years
Here go driving home today on my 2003 str
I got restricted Performance
On Instrument cluster
I Normally use my launch x431 pros elite scanner
But a couple of weeks ago I lent it to a so called friend
But have since found out he sold it
I do have a JLR IDS SDD MONGOOSE SCANNER
I purchased a year ago from a company called oliveston ltd but have never got the hang of using it
I have managed to get it to read codes but not sure how to look deeper or not managed to clear codes
So if someone one could be kind enough
To explain how to clear codes
Just try to it sorted before ii put cars in storage
Thanking you
Darrol

My father always said: You never lend money nor your wife to anyone...
- apparently you have to add a "launch x431 pros elite scanner" to that list...
Incidentally, I started yesterday trying to find out more about the SDD in the hope that I can connect S-Type 04 remotes with it to the car...
I tried now for more than half an hour to find your clear-codes answer on youtube - there a plenty of videos about the SDD, but I could not find that specific answer.
Meanwhile I have a question for you:
The way I understand it, I need a mongoose cable and the SDD program for my laptop. Where can I find the SDD software - preferably for free?

Yes so true
I have this JLR IDS SDD SYSTEM
purchased from united Kingdom
your 2004 on software will convert to IDS
I've mine do
I have programed key fobs
but not with the JLR
For all my jaguar s-type I use a super old key programmer
Which works every time
I also have a mini key tool that clones keys
that works good too
I had a thought i could ask my son if son if he would be able to download the software on to a USB stick
for you not sure if its possible then i could post it to you in Australia since we all most Neighbors
Thanking you Darrol

@ Darren: It would be nice, if such a functional key-remote and transponder-cloning device would be available somewhere for a modest price. A long time ago I bought something, which was called X-tool (I think) from China for about $500. I asked them before buying, if I can program S-Type '04 remotes with it. They confirmed. But it was not possible. Thus I burned my fingers there, and I would not buy anything anymore unless I knew for a fact somehow that it would work. I looked for the SKP-900 (from your picture) and I found it for roughly $1000-$1500. That is too much. Also, my bad experience with the X-Tool thought me that many expensive devices are aimed at ripping you off additionally by having a software installed, which works for just a limited time, before you have to pay big money for a software, which you had paid for already...
I was hoping that I can buy a Mongoose cable and connect it to my laptop and download the SDD software somewhere for free - I do not know, if that is possible...
Investing too much money in a pipedream to find something that works is too risky.
I am not sure, which software (on a stick) you are referring to. Is that the software for a laptop, or for a special device?
I found this listing for the Xhorse:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...Cquery_from%3A
Is that what you have? What exactly can I do with that?

I can try a different Way, Peter. It's on my Google Drive and I'm not real savvy about linking it to another person. I've done it before but it's been a long time ago. That version is a very good version for our cars. I will try again.
Peter, I have the discs that I would be more than happy to send you. It would take a bit to get to you but you're welcome to them if you PM me your address. I have everything saved on separate hard drives for the versions that I have so giving them to you would not put me in a bind in anyway. As a matter of fact, I usually use version 145 just because it's a little quicker and you don't have to add in as many car details as with version 131.
I have read on the forum that many members really like version 131 because it's not glitchy

You can clone keys and the transponder chip
Not 100% sure on programming key fob to lock unlock
I normally use the skp 900 but as you know they not cheep
This is only a thought
I purchased the complete package which included a Panasonic cf d1 tablet
And software was pre installed
That was my choice
I could have just purchased the software program and installed to a laptop
But couldn't be bothered to do that and wanted something just dedicated to jaguar/Landover
Mine is running on xp
it is exactly the same software loaded on to tablet
As I could have purchased to install on my own laptop
my thought is i could get my son to download all the software on to a USB stick and post it to you
then i can email you the codes to active it
If you Google JLRIDSSDDMONGOOSE.COM
it tells you all about them
Just a thought
Thanking you

Hey Scott. Download worked for me (MANY THANKS!) and I was able to initiate it to run. Its starting to begin its run normally but problem its giving me is that its saying its an update to v6.00, (version 6.00).
Your link appears to be the update (v6.01).
Are you please able to send a link for v6.00, (version 6.00).

Darrol2004, Scottjh9,
I've never been able to run any Jaguar software which like Peter I'm very keen to obtain. Not sure if Peter needs the later version though?
My wife has a Sony laptop that she's not using that has XP on it. I believe XP is needed to run the software? And since I have a 2002 R I need to use the SDD software version and not the IDS version?

Think you have it backward so will need IDS. On a good day SDD (only some versions?) will or may run IDS.
IDS/SDD are frankly awful user interface and intended for trained techs (who I expect hated it).

scottjh9, not sure what you mean by 'what version I have'?
I can take the downloaded file to run on the XP machine, not connect the XP machine to internet and make sure the date's around 2012?

I am sure that is what Scott means. I did that quite often 30 years ago - always reset the date to an earlier time. Since computers are always connected to the net, this is no longer possible these days, but if the computer is not connected to the internet, it should not be able to find out that the new millennium has already started... Might be an idea to choose (=manually enter) a date where Windows XP did already exist...

sorry. I forgot what sdd version you got. I have linked a couple over the years. And yes. Set date to august 2012 and no internet connection. Restrat computer then sdd. Update demand should be gone. There is a slight chance you may have to enter the login again. I dont remember
