Weird, I have one of the first ones shipped and have probably several thousand miles on it. Can you take a pic where it split?

Go to the auto parts store and look in the help section. Its a standard fitting for a 5.4 Ford Triton motors PCV valve. Its not a specialty part that you would have to look for. I had the same thing go wrong and have already talked with Mafioso about it. I bought a new one and put a worm clamp snugly on the fitting for now. He came up with this setup so we weren't modifying our stock one so we could go back really easy. (ie warranty work etc.)

So is Mafioso going to update his Air intakes with this mod for the breather hose with new orders?

Not sure I'm sure he will comment on that. I just talked to him this morning about it. We just thought it was an isolated incident on my intake. I had to stretch mine pretty wide to get it to fit over the fitting. He was checking my VIN to see if maybe I had a later 05 and maybe there were different valve covers on the newer models. Seeing as how I'm not the only one it may be something with the fitting. You can mod the stock fitting with the new tube but you wont have the option of going back in you have a warranty and take it to the dealer.

He hasnt modded it yet. Thats the actual part he uses in the kit that he sends. So doing that will get you back where you were when you recieved the intake. I put it back this way then put the clamp on it in case it split from the pressure going through tubes.

Strange that happened and like Vance said we spoke this AM about it. And I thought it may have been a 1 off. I'm looking for the solution asap.

Perhaps the little elbows were built to a tolerance and that's why those 2 have failed. As soon as locate the solution I will be sending everyone the correct fitting. Looks like NORMA quick connect V2 fittings it is.

I'm very sorry about that guys. The elbow was tested for a while before shipping out. But I will make it right :]

Maybe its a cold weather thing. Its been pretty cold here the last couple days and I notice fergs is in Mass. Maybe the heat from the engine bay and then the cold weather outside makes it shrink to much and makes it split when it gets too tight. Just a hypothesis.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I had a bit of a tough time stretching that rubber fitting over the tube as well. I put a zip tie on it, but I'll switch to a hose clamp instead, just in case.

I have no doubt that if it becomes a common problem Mafioso will do his best to work it out.

Keep all this great feedback coming!

Yea it was quite a stretch to get it on. Could definitely see it ripping under the high heat.

Mine failed in the same way too. Also in MA, in case the outside temps are a factor.

I checked mine after a 20 minute or so drive in temps in the low to mid 30's. The fitting felt kind of soft after the drive, but was intact. I had installed a hose clamp around it that covers almost all of the rubber around the outlet.
