Hi anyone got one of these ,,,
1999 S Type X200 3.0L Auto , i found 2 ,1 in Lithuania (dubious)and the other in Bristol but you have to collect it (presumably its only for Bristol folk) !!
If you buy a used transmission cooler, I would thoroughly flush the unit with solvent as any foreign matter (no matter how small) lodged inside will be carried into the automatic transmission and can cause all sorts of grief...
Yep to the tune of £280 I found these people https://www.breakeryard.com/customer...quests/4731073 I am thinking of selling as is, and getting a 2000 and above model as it's so difficult to get and find 1999 parts, I think it's the first S Type as so much is different between 1999 &2000 and above, I think the 2004 is when they started to get things right, if I was sensible I would get the X Type ..but it doesn't follow the MK2 from the beginning and doesn't have the same lines, I am a massive Ian Callum fan and loath the X Type ..I leave you with a fantastic picture & vid of Ian, s own car a modernised MK2 ,,get your wallet out £300000 Ian Callum,s Up-rated MK2 Jaguar uprated 4.3 litre XK engine...
So much changed with the X202; the exterior styling remained pretty much consistent with the original X200, but the interior (particularly the dash) was significantly updated, together with the engine management systems, etc.
These are the reason I looked for a 2003 (there was no 2002.5 model release here in the States like there was in GB).
Callum's design is interesting, but gill louvers on a MK2... really?
My dream car is a perfect black MK2 with red leather and carpets, I used to keep slippers in my XJ6 mk2 4.2 the ride was so graceful, she cracked her head on number 6 as its furthest from the water pump, what finally killed an otherwise perfect example was wrapping it up for winter only to find the paint removed from every panel when I took it off, at the time it wrote the car off ..big lesson learnt there, look at the picture and weep I had a recon head ready to bolt down and I saw this and sold it for scrap money ,,value at the time would be £1.5K in good condition
