Default Please help trac. control fault and ball joint

hi,

i just replaced my wheels exact same size and perfect fitment, I watched them put them on and they didnt touch anything. Right after that the abs light came on and also the traction control fault came up on the dash?/ Any ideas. Also i need a passenger side ball joint doen, is there somewhere i can get a blowup of how to remove the vertical link to press it out, I have a shop that will do it, but would like to know how to remove it myself. Thanks in advance

i wud recheck that all the tires are of the same size... easy indication wud be checking the codes... may just need a reflash of the abs module..but getting codes wud be the best step.

also check to make sure they didnt tug a harness loose. Just look behind wheel and make sure they are plugged in and not snapped.
Vertical link just unbolts. Hub is held in by 4 bolts.

Hi,

the wheels were identical size (offset etc.) the tires were the same as that was on there. the guys didnt touch anything i watched the whole process. I am a 2nd yeasr mechanic but I have never worked on a jag. I have a OBDII it doesnt give me any codes? so I am not sure what to do. I will check the connections maybe this is the problem as it seemed to happen about 1 hour later when it was raining maybe a connection broke on the abs. So if the abs isnt working the traction control fault is automatic right?

Yes. Traction control and abs are in same system. Just because you watched them however, doesn't mean that something didnt get tugged inadvertantly. I have done it myself. It also may just be purely coincidental.

Hi,

So I checked all my wires etc. seem okay. Not to worried about it cause the brakes were working fine. Then I am at a stop light and the pedal goes all the way to the floor, I check the fluid its empty (which I had just topped up) So I figure a hose or line has gone right? So i go under and search the 2000 feet of line and cant find a leak anywhere?? I put more fluid in and now it doesnt seem to be using any fluid? What gives with this car man, only had it for 3 weeks, not to happy, Also every morning when i go out there the battery is dead only for the last few days was working fine(brand new batt) something is draining it any ideas?? I have checked the obvious lights trunk lights etc. I cant seem to find anything. Please help me. Also looked for signs of brake fluid all over the car and cant find any anywhere, its very strange. Any help would be must appreciated

Also can you eliminate that stupid spaghetti factory of a brain box for the brakes under the hood? I take it that is the abs module. I have never seen such a complicated system of unnecessary crap.

hey were in canada are you..? im in canada too
the draw can be anything.. any module.. ive had climate control modules.. instrument packs door latches seat modules relays.. the one thing you can check is in the trunk near battery there is a little white connector check the condition of it. and you cannot disable the abs module..

Yes thank you, thats the first thing i checked seemed to in working condition, but I unhooked both lights in the trunk anyhow , will see tommorow morning. How do you troubleshoot this type of problem. also any idea on the brakes? There has to be a leak somewhere if i am using fluid right?
