Default Replacing front sway bar bushings

Hello all,

I was trying to replace the front sway bar bushings for a 2003 S-Type R. Do I need any special tools to remove the bolts. There seems to be not that much space for accessing the bolts.
Any help is sincerely appreciated.

Thanks,

I'll be watching this one as I need to do it too. Where did you get the replacement bushings? If they're jag, do you have a part number by chance? Good luck with the repair.

These are OEM part number XR819697. I bought them from Nalley Jaguar, Roswell GA. Their price is reasonable @ $33.39 each.

I took mine off to help with the spring swap. Pretty easy to undo with basic hand tools.

Haven't done mine yet. I'm not sure how to reach the bolts.

Put a jack under the knuckle to relieve the tension on the bolt that is attached to the swaybar.

the best thing you can use is a wobbler externsion that away the socket to wobble like 20deg. I like to use a air ratchewt cause there is not alot of room and it will buzz the bolts out. also a 13mm gear wrench with aflex head works best to the bolts closets to the engine. the wobbler on the ones you cant see. spray with lube on the bottom of the bolts to ease them coming out. take all bolts out. reace the bushings and spray the bolts thread with lube before you put them back in starting them a few thread by hand. start all 4 before you tighten any, then tighten them up and youre done. this is a very hard job under a car in the drive, and soooooo much easier on a lift standing up

My apoligies for not responding sooner big guy.. I read this thread a week or so a go and did some home work for you but, got cought up dong the dad thing, bllaa, bllaa, blaa..

Anyway I don't know if I’m to late but here’s what I found out about changing the bushing..

I don't think – see it as an big issue..

You would need to remove this bolt here on the front cross member and then split the metal cover’s remove the old and replace with new.. x 2 of course.

If you were thinking about replacing all of bushing, then you might want to see these connections, again I do see a big deal. Remove the wheel work within the strut and wheel well.

Anyway.. Hope that helps.. If not.. Well I tried.. hahaaa.

Top left of that final photo looks to be the DCCV that goes bad so often.

I only see 3 hoses on it but I thought there would be 5 for your era car.

Thread "Dual Climate Control Valve (DCCV) Source" here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=27185
but check the part # on "Confirmed Crossed Referenced Ford Parts that work with our Jaguars" here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ighlight=YG378
