S-Type Heated screen
My broken windscreen has been replaced by a windscreen with a heating element installed. I find two conections in each A-pillar.
How can i get this screen heater working the most easy way and is a timer needed for the relais?

Thanks...
My Jag is an S-type 2005, 3.0 A/T, VIN N27895. It has a DEF function switch, but lacks the screen heater switch.
I do have a my 2003 wiring diagram, but not the 2005 version.
Do you know if is a single or a two-zone heater? I expect a two-zone system will have three connections, but I can only find two of these.

You know most have heated wiper park(wire grid where wipers park so they dont freeze to glass) and not heated windscreen. The windscreen has very small lines wires and theyre also very expensive. You sure you have a heated screen?
The OP is in the Netherlands so his closest source of supply is the UK. If the heated windshield is popular in the UK then the odds increase that it is the default item available in the aftermarket supply chain.
The only requirement to run a heated windshield is sufficient power. All of the other features like tying it in to the defroster system and auto off are just nice to have. Important to have because waking up to a drained battery is no fun, but a careful owner could run one with a manually controlled relay with the control poles tied into ignition controlled power successfully.

The heated windscreen in the Uk came as part of the winter pack, the wiring will be there but you will need to fit in the fuse box (and connect wires to them) , as they would not be fitted to the box F25 Right hand side and F30 left hand side, have 2 relays R17 left hand side heater and R21 right hand side heater these are switched/controlled via the air conditioning control module and a switch.
You should check the UK forum to see if anyone has retro fitted one?

I already checked all existing fora, but can't find any answer to my questions. And yes, it is a heated screen, not a heated wipe-park only.
To repeat, my questions are:
1) Is it a dual zone system, and if so shouldn't it than have a minimum of 3 connectors. I can only find two.
2) Is a 2005 S-Type wiring diagram available? If so, the first answer is given as well.
The OE heated windscreen setup in the S-Type is likely to be much the same as the one fitted in my XK8.
The wiring schematic certainly looks similar on the two models and, for this option, unchanged over a number of years:

The LH and RH heater elements are each single zone and operate together, not independently.

Dual Zone - four separate heater elements. I bet that's a horrendous price!
I had a development one of those fitted in my XJ6 Series II in the 70's when Triplex were (trying) to develop them and gave up at that time on grounds of manufacturing cost.

You can still join. I do not believe the diagram will have changed in the area concerned but it is up to you.
BTW, jag fitted an up-rated alternator to cars such as mine to handle the extra load (which is large).
