Smile S Type radio upgrade

Ok so getting no replies to my last post I thought I would try here again. Can someone who knows enough about taking a radio unit out and replacing it with a super DAB radio unit please let me know if this radio

Pioneer AVIC-Z710DAB Car Stereo

will fit my S Type Jaguar 54 plate please.
Many thanks

Worst case you could read up on here for what's previously been done.
Also on https://www.jaguarforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=27

My feeling is you've no chance.

I've managed to upgrade my head unit in almost every vehicle I've owned, but the S-Type is the exception. My '02 has the premium sound option where no aftermarket vendor makes harnesses nor adapters for (other than the antenna).

A good cassette adapter with mini plug takes care of an iPod/phone, and can even be used for input for a Bluetooth interface.
A TomTom handles the Nav.

The only thing I can't compensate for is a backup camera.

At least I'm not considering destruction and construction costs that exceed the value of the car.

I am getting mine done tomorrow. Yes that unit will fit. If you have the premium sound option you will have to add a new amp if you want to keep the sub and center channel.

How is it going to connect into the rest of the car's networks?

Does your car have factory navigation?
If so it will not be possible to upgrade with anything aftermarket.

Plenty of threads on upgrades if you DON'T have navigation.

If you have factory navigation, your best bet is to modify it to run Android - you'll get bluetooth music streaming, DAB radio, reversing camera just like any modern Android head unit etc etc.
I've documented the process for this on my website: www.jagdroid.org

6+ years ago it was there. Apparently no longer.

That's the thing with ancient threads sometimes.

It's part of a much bigger problem. We have been sold a bill of goods. The internet is unreliable and anything you store or link to it will die and become unavailable with time. It will not be "permanent" as promised. Please DO NOT use any photo hosting services. They are again garbage and you will lose everything with enough time.

All forums including this one are full of out of date junk (Links, pictures and any kind of useful data) because of this. It's a real shame these parasite companies can still prey upon the public with no fear of prosecution.
