Default Seat Belt Bolt Cover Thingy. . .

I have a 2003 S-Type R that is missing the little black plastic cover on the seat belt "pass through" slot just over the front passenger's right shoulder. There's a bolt that secures that pass-through to the door pillar. That bolt is now visible because the little plastic thingy is missing. And, darn it, it just messes up the whole look.

I can take a picture of it if people don't know what I am talking about. What I really need to know is what the heck that little plastic piece is called and, more importantly, where can I get a replacement?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

My 03 S-Type R is missing the exact same cover on the passenger side seat belt... haha it doesn't bother me enough to go buy a replacement from Jaguar, but I do agree with you about it being an eye sore.. I was thinking about going to test drive another S-Type and borrowing it from that one..

I agree, the little details drive me batty as well. I don't know what kind of relationship you have with your dealer, but it may not hurt to ask. I was BS'n with the service manager at my dealer and I made a light hearted comment that it drove me nuts to look in my mirror and see the missing child latch covers. He asked me to wait a second and came out with two covers and snapped them on. I asked how much and he told me that he didn't want me to loose it while driving home. I would ask the dealer since a lot of those trim parts are available and very inexpensive. I tried looking it up on their parts site, but the only reference was for the belt assembly or the height adjuster, no trim parts.

Its official name is "Cap-Seatbelt Swivel" and costs about $5 from the dealer.

is where I ordered mine. For the Oatmeal one for the XK8 the p/n is HND7150AAAGD. Cost + shipping was about same as dealer price.

I had the same problem . The answer i found was to go to the ******* and pay $14 for a 25cent plastic part. It felt good though because i agree - it messes up the looks of the interior

While other forums may tolerate that.... This does not..along with maintaining an environment free of harassment.

Basically it is like this... Some of our most active and supportive techs are in fact dealer service technicians.

To be honest, when you are ankle deep in "Jaguar service" poo, the main posters in this forum will be able to help you out...Once you get knee deep in the poo, those same dealer folks that you chided may be your last help.....probably a good idea to respect them.....
