Yes a lot of us have "visited". What strikes a number of us is just how in hell do they manage to get all those sunny beautiful days in all the BBC - PBS Masterpiece theater series? Is it by royal decree?

To avoid crowds they shoot at very early hours. The rain arrives later

If it's any consolation, I found Germany's weather worse than the UK's in 1980 on a REFORGER exercise. One night it was 22 degrees F at the Kaserne we were at.

My 2005 car's snowflake comes on as soon as the temperature drops to 4 degrees or below. It is one of the ways Jaguar have thought to look after me and keep me safe!

It looks like I'll be seeing a lot of that snowflake. It's been running in the low to mid 30s as a high and mid teens in the morning. The 20 knot wind makes it just that more enjoyable.

Wow, I'm jealous! Display said 16 when I went to work... Heck... The garage was 28!

But I blame Canada... It's their fault that their cold air comes across the lake, freezes us, and dumps 2ft of snow on us as well....

Pooo... Heck, I least I know what my car looks like if I ever wanted to paint it white (coated in salt).

Help - we have some real Snowflakes here on our farm and unfortunately because of that, my 2003 STR is sitting off to the side of my driveway, somewhat in a bit of a ditch. Does this car have tow hooks so we could put the tractor to use getting her out? I've located what looks like tow hooks but they look rather flimsy for what we have planned.

Look in your trunk for the factory tow ring. It should be in the Styrofoam carrier in the spare wheel. This is screwed in on the back of the car. If you get under and look at the driver’s side rear bumper you will see a square piece of black plastic. This is removed and then you can see the threaded hole the tow ring is screwed into. The early cars had the connection in front I think.

Thanks, tbird6 - everything is as you said - threaded part is at back of car but plastic cover is missing - we'll have to replace that before the threads get too badly rusted. Tractor away.

Update: thank you so much tbird6 - the info you gave me on the tow ring helped us greatly - we were able to free our Cat from the clutches of that ditch with our tractor and a tow chain without too much trouble, or damage and I got a pat on the back for coming up with that info instead of getting yelled at for ditching the Cat - great day for me.

You are welcome but it's just a hobby for me!!! A bit of useless trivia that I just seem to remember.

If you do replace the missing plastic piece. Please post back to the list about cost and part number. May help somebody else!!

This info is in the Owners manual BTW.

Good point, Mikey, but I guess I was overtaken by a moment of quiet hysteria and completely forgot about the Owners Manual - probably couldn't have read it anyway because of being so upset. Only completely logical people go back to basics when confronted with problems.
