Default Sourcing replacement ABS module

Good morning. I am trying to source a replacement ABS module for my 04 S Type with the 3.0 and DSC. I know there is great importance to matching the unit if wishing to avoid needing IDS to address the replacement unit but I find most options with my exact P/N 2w93-2c405-ac to be matched to XJ models. For S Types, I find similar numbers except for the last two digits, -AD for example is a common find that matches an 04 S. My question is, what is the most important criteria, exact number or configuration? Do I need to hold out until I find a double match? Some of the ones that I find really look beat, I am only looking for the electronics board but plan to buy a whole unit. Thanks, Steve

If you live in Europe it is easier to get them rebuilt as there is always the risk that the second hand is not working correctly and you don't have to get programmed to your car.

Here is a firm in America

Most owners concur that it is better to have your existing ABS unit refurbished than to purchase a new one. Some of the companies that have been known to successfully offer this service here in the US include:

ASI in Tennessee, phone (866) 983-6688.

SIA Electronics in Illinois, phone (800) 737-0915.

Module Repair Pros in California, phone (818) 429-4889.

Darrell Turner in California, phone (858) 649-9090.

These ideas are definitely something I can get into. I've already hit another site's message center and am waiting for reply. But with these leads I'll add them too. Much appreciated.

No matter which 2nd hand unit you get it will have to be configured with IDS.
