Default Sump washer size?

My 2007 6 cylinder S-type is about to get its first oil change (at least since I've had it). I'm uncertain as to what size sump washer to use. A guy at a local parts store gave me one that is about 1.8 cm outer diameter and about 1.1 cm inner diameter. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me if that is the right size and, if not what the correct size is. Thanks.

If it's basically the same as the 3.0 in the X Type, the drain bolt has an O ring built into its head. Each time you change oil, you're supposed to replace the bolt with a new one. I was replacing mine about every other oil change, and, never had any problem.

My STR has the plug with built-in seal. I also change it about every other oil change. I understand that the O ring seal IS available separately but honestly the price saving doesn't seem worthwhile.

It looks to be the same as on newer Fords (over here).

I owned 2 X Types before my S-Type VDP - 4.2. I've been buying just the replacement bolt seal for my S - but the drain bolt for the 3.0 in the X has the O ring molded into the bolt head - so every other oil change I had to go to the dealer and buy a new bolt.

oldengineer, jagv8, thanks.
It sounds like replacing the plug is the way to go. The closest Jag dealer is a two hour drive away so I ordered a plug online. I appreciate you taking the time to address a novice Jag owner's concern.
