Default Suspension Problems

I just purchased a new to me 2000 S-type 4.0. I purchased it as driving to work car. I love the look and design of the car. One problem I am having is the front suspension kind of floats. When I hit a bump, sometime it pulls to the right and the steering wheel is all ways floating about. Other than this the car is in perfect condition.

I'd start by checking that the tyres are the right kind and set to the correct pressures. (All 4, as sometimes oddness isn't where you first think.)

Next.... the suspension components. To understand them get JTIS. (Search ...)

Check the lower ball joints. They were known to have problems when they were new and there were a few TSBs and a recall to address the issues.

The Recall 136 was to check and tighten the joint nut. I had a few cars that the ball joint started seizing and loosening the nut until the steering 'wobbled'.

You are lucky if its the lower ball joints, they can be purchased separately.

I have another problem. When the air condition is off the car runs hot. When i turn the air on it goes back to normal. What could be the problem.

Fans don't sound to be running when they should.
a/c on -> fans run (mostly, but let's not get too clever)
a/c off -> fans run if the PCM thinks they should - in this case it trusts various sensors so something may be out

I vaguely recall someone had this before but can't recall the fix, sorry. Try some Searching
