Default Sway bar brackets

Looking under hood of 2000 s-type. I can see both bolt heads of driver side sway bar bracket, but on pssngr side only the closest to fire wall. Other bolt head is blocked by hoses and a control box of some kind. This box appears to be affixed by only one bolt and by removing that, should be able to move hoses & box aside enough to access other bracket bolt. Hoping others have performed sway bar bracket & bushing retrofit and can educate me on best approach, do's & dont's. Thanks for your help in advance. Stan

Hey Stan - I'm also in Chesapeake and getting ready to attempt the same fix. Can you post some pic's? I'm having a difficult time finding the brackets myself.

Thanks,
Rob

Shibajack: I have pics but not sure how to post here. U send me an email address and I will send pics. Maybe you can post to forum for others to see. I'd still like to hear from others that have actually done this retrofit to get idea of best approach....from under hood, underneath, or combo. Stan

The Dual Climate Control Valve needs to be 'displaced' from it's bracket to access the stabilizer bar fastener (13mm).

I loosen the 10mm nut and remove the bolt on the bracket. I lift the DCCV up and forward with a large prybar.

Bob: Again, thanks. Now I know the unit hiding one of the bolt heads is called a DCCV. My 2000 S-type has 44,000 easy miles. The front end clunk is audible when either front wheel crosses a bump. I am assuming cause is bad sway bar bushings because it falls in the L-M production series where improper brackets were factory installed. It could be other things, but this seems logical. I do hate to fix unbroken stuff. You have any ideas, comments. Stan

Gus: You did not say whether you replaced the 2 sway bar brackets along with bushing replacement. According to the TSB, the wrong sway bar brackets were installed at the factory which simply eats up the bushings., as you know. Thanks Stan
