So this morning was just like any other morning.. alarm rings, i hit the snooze button (about 3x), finally get up, get ready for work, walk to my car, turn her on and quickly hit the seat warmer button. I put her on Neutral, apply the hand brake, and slowly start revving the engine.
i always warm my car up for about 5minutes before takeoff but this particular morning i was a bit late so i kinda revved her a little harder then usual.. and thats when IT HAPPENED, revved her to about 3500rpms and BOOM.!! yellow light goes on. "restricted performance"
i turned her off for about 10 seconds hoping it would just go away.. and it did, but now my damn "check engine" light is on..
any help.??

Ill try to pull up some codes for you guys tommorow. untill then, its a 2003 S-type R, 97,xxx miles. any insight greatly appreciated guys.

 

We'll need the codes but the car's due major service items now (100K) so plan on doing it all.
BTW, not good for modern cars to be warmed up so long. Just drive it gently for the first 5-10 mins.
