Default Turned off car while driving Gear box fault and no fodes found

Hello you guys. I recently turned off my 03 STR while driving by hitting the key with my knee while trying to get a water bottle that fell on the floor. The car gave warning beeps and measage said ignition in off positiont. 😳 I paniced and quickly turned it back into the on position while the car was still costing wothout power. Let me remind you that the car is still in drive and i turned it back into the on position.. After doing so the car jerked very hard and then displayed a gearbox fault. The car shifts into 1st 2nd and 3rd hard now, then doesnt seem to go past 3rd gear. No codes are seen on my obd2. What could it be so that i can fix this issue? Any advice is more than appreciated.

You may well need the codes from the trans (TCM).

There could be trans damage (even if no TCM codes) due to weird pressures but hopefully not.

You need a code reader that can see the gearbox fault codes. That may well help identify the fault.

But sadly I agree with the above, you could well have damaged the gearbox, but I do hope not.

You will need a code reader capable of reading Jaguar specific chassis/transmission diagnostic trouble codes, or DTCs. Inexpensive OBD readers will not do this...

Find a Jaguar specialist and have them read the DTCs. Is the MIL on?

All great advice! First disconnect the battery cables and let the car rest a bit. Connect back to see if anything changed?

Post what reader your using too. So many out there and it's hard to see very deep into the car unless using the factory setup SDD.
So you car probably does have a code but your reader is unable to see it.
