Wheel Hub / Steering Knuckle Tolerances - Should it be a tight fit?
Greetings,
I recently purchased a 2001 S Type 4.0 which I have been restoring and when I went to have it aligned I was told it needed a front wheel bearing. Rather than paying Les Schwab $489 to do the work I purchased the part for around $60 at Rock Auto. When I removed the old wheel hub I was surprise to find that it slipped right out after removing the 4 bolts. I was under the impression I would have to remove a couple wheel studs and "press" it out using a couple cap screws and nuts. When installing the new hub I was able to push it into the knuckle by hand. My question is as to whether my steering knuckle is worn and should be replaced? Should that be a tight fit? There isn't any play in the fit but I expected to have to "press" it in when tightening the 4 retaining bolts.
Thank you for your time in advance

I did not see an edit button on the thread so I could not edit the title but I think what I am referring to as the "steering knuckle" is actually called the "vertical link" according to Jagbits
