Where are the IMT-O rings on the 4.0L
So I'm having a difficult time trying to locate the IMT-O rings for my 2001 4.0L stype. I feel like there might be a bit of a vacuum leak, but also I'd just like to know. All the guides I've seen are for the 3.0L and it seems to be very different in terms of location
Use an ELM, or other such device, to check short term and long term fuel trims if you suspect a vacuum leak. The 4.0 litre has many plastic connectors and pipes that deteriorate with age causing small leaks.
Mihai,
What symptoms do you have, is it a rough idle, consistent or intermittent? Is it slow to rev up? Are there any messages displayed on the message center such as a " Restricted Performance "? Being that its a V8, there could be numerous places that a vacuum leak could be coming from, need a bit more info.
As JoycesJag said, only the 3.0L V6 S-type and X-type had the intake manifold tuning valves, the V8's never had that setup.
