There seems to be some sort of anew internal something that pulls back when you try and pull off the fuel line hose to the fuel rail. Anyone know how this comes apart. I got the intake manifold off to replace the valley hoses, but had to leave the manifold just set to the side duets this connection.
How does this come apart?
Someone will get an answer for you soon. Don't force it, I gotta think that's a pretty high pressure hose.
This surgery is in my future, please take lots of pictures.
Beautiful car. Closest one I've seen to mine...maybe exactly the same. Mines an 05 and the blue may be a touch different...or not.
Not as shiny as yours (!!) - this was a scrap one I got for free just to investigate.
The "female" part has four internal lugs which trap the raised ridge on the "male" pipe.
so with the correct tool - either one of the plastic ones or one like mine, you slide the tool in to compress the lugs, then pull the whole "male" assembly out.
I think that's the same as yours. Mine is off an early XK8 so there may be minor differences ?

I must admit that when I saw where your arrow was pointing, I had my suspicions, but was too polite to ask :-)
I envy your shiny pipes - is that just wire-wool and hard work, or is there a secret formula ?
