Thumbs up rise low beams

Hi.

In my adventures in rebuilding my XKR, I found out you can rise the low beams electrically. Modify the plastic thingi behind the low beam adjuster knob so you can turn it to a virtual "-1" instead of 0..3 will rise the beams more.

Remember to put it at 0 again when going for the inspection.

Regards

Hi.

No behind the adjuster knob.
there is a potentiometer there that can be rotated much higher than zero if the knob is removed. i know as i have removed the whole panel and relocated the adjuster potentiometer.

i bought a really deep, well made plastic dual cupholder for my XKR. it is wedged between the console and passenger seat, and slips out easily and is less than $8.00

https://www.amazon.com/TSI-Products-.../dp/B0009N4F6I

i "broke" the original XKR cupholder as it was useless, and missing one spring... and now use that to hold my phone while driving

oh, and getting in and out of a coupe with 5" ground clearance in 5" heels on is quite a workout. but worth it!

The broken left motor mount. Floppy v8 no good! Nearly dented the underside of the hood She's on the rack awaiting a new set as I type.

So the knob is behind the Stability Control Button cover? How do I get the button cover off to reach the knob?

Hey Prettybluefin,

looked at it on amazon... seems like a cool fix, but does it cover some of the passenger seat?

or please post a pic

Many Thanks
Andy

Currently the most annoying thing is when the PAX door thinks it's open after I close it. Thankfully the interior lights don't stay on, but I constantly have to nudge the window closed, and I cannot lock the car.

just barely. not a bother to the passenger at all. I use the center well if only holding one cup as it's more snug. I love that I can just lift it out in a second and toss in the back when not in use.

The drip on the left leg when it is raining and you put the window down...even an inch.
Having to park at the far side of the parking lot to avoid dings.
The thought that no matter how hard I try, the car may not last forever.
I'm willing to suck it up.

After owning my car for a little over a month, I have found the most annoying thing to be is the next repair. As soon as I get one thing fixed there are two things else that pop up.

Lack of a front license plate bracket. Constantly paranoid that I will be ticketed and have to prove to a judge that I have complied by mutilating my front bumper with a Jed Clampett, chewing gum/bailing wire installation.

Never understand how with 26 states requiring a front plate, all vehicles don't have them as standard?!

because a front bracket on an X100 would be a crime against humanity ;-)

I drilled a couple of holes in the plate and mounted low with a course tread screw in the holes that were there from the original plate holder and then with a couple of chrome screw caps finished...bent the plate to contour the bumber... done and legal as it is a $170 fine here in BC

I hear you! Personally, I can convince myself that either with or without can look okay. But if a front plate is present I want it to look "factory"; that the placement was aesthetically planned.

Interesting solution. I need to mull that one over. Thanks very much!

hard to really see from this pic, but I did the same, mounted as low as possible as to not obscure the amazing wonderful front end. A couple of thin bolts/washers/nuts.
