So, you're fabricating a "rice rocket" wing for the back of your Jag? LOL!

XKRS-GT or GT3 racing style depending on my skill level once I get there. Tons of compound curves on the XKRS-GT one. My street car is pretty dinged up. Making it look like an ex racer more appealing.

Maybe. I need to mock it up out of cardboard and then build a plywood form. Lots of work but I always wanted to do something with blind rivets (think aircraft wing). The dorky plastic side vents are getting redone in alloy sooner or later. Wing, diffuser, splitter were the other thoughts.

Tough crowd.

Would it be better if I mentioned that I had a brain storming moment about 2 am last night and methinks I'm going to get a spare set of center vents and mounts some flavor of gauges in them similar to what I did on my '93 Stang. Used stainless steel and angled gauge holders to do it. Something similar to this only with two gauges and more room for cooling air flow. I think it's more elegant versus trying to cram something around the cluster.

This is actually a feature in the 2009MY cars, and it's related to the touchscreen, not the instrument cluster.

When we did the touchscreen update to the 2008 XKR (put the touchscreen from my 2009 into the 2008) the graphics in the instrument cluster for the navigation appeared, never touched the instrument cluster....

If someone would make this pod half the size and have a digital readout of Water Temp and volts I would consider installing one. After all I think all we need to see are these 2 features or at least WT. Just my 2 cents. I use this and even though I don't like it's looks I live with it.

I thought about doing an A pillar pod but I think it would be a PITA to cover with fabric so it has an OEM look.

2 1/16" gauges read well but I don't know if I would do Autometers again. They didn't last ten years in the stang.

You could wrap it in wood wrap if you have the wood dash? :-)

Keep an eye out for an instrument cluster from an XF 4.2 SV8, the tacho has the same scale as the 4.2 XKR.

That's funny. I never even noticed the tach scale was off, only concerned about the speedo. You're making me spend more money.

So, we're 40ish days further along on our journey and the car is doing well. No real updates other than we are beyond 130k and I think I do need to change my clock spring as the radio volume down indicator flickers when I turn it a little to the left. Still needs downstream o2's as well but other wise it just keeps rolling along.

So, this morning at 0 dark 30 on the way to work... Cruising speed, warp factor 1.5 minimal traffic on a 3 lane interstate. Car approaches from the rear, eyebrows over headlamps. Thinking Challenger and maybe the ride in is going to get interesting. Other car is closer, headlights can't be seen so I wiggle to the right a lane for it to pass. Other car stays there. Upcoming traffic in the middle lane so I wiggle to the slow lane and the other car, black coupe pulls hard. Whack the happy pedal pulling a hill and well, the XKR does it's think up to Warp 10 or so and I get back over in the fast lane and slow down to normal cruise. Other car pulls hard on my bumper, to the point that I'm thinking he's going to ram... And then the blue lights came on.
