Default Rear evaporator

The one pictured may be available NOS (contact off line). The one in your pic is a bit small (note the coffin shape of the other). These were used in many cars but the one pictured was the one specified. Not that the shop that installed it used what they had on the shelf. the one you posted has been modified as far as the gas lines are concerned--the HI and Low were in the engine bay orig. In anycase I know where some NOS resides so if interested let me know.

how soon do you need it? working order? would a Koolair brand from my 3.8S with trunk mounted evap and parcel shelf registers work for you? dryer is in engine bay and hoses run along frame rail to rear. period electric fan assist at radiator.

The 'S' kit will work in a MK2 but was up scale if it was the approved kit. The cold out vents were molded devices that ran up the C pillar---will look for a pic. they also had a form fitting cover for the evaporator as the Fan motors were re located--also very finished looking.

Will post a few documents for the 'S'. I copied the front of the brochure in B/W as it makes the unique outlets very obvious. The install documents run some 50 pages. Jaguar USA worked very hard with the two major vendors on their kits. this one for the 'S' is well developed but not the final version. Enjoy---in future post

Default compressor mounting

I am using a "modern" rotary compressor. I was able to locate an original period York compressor mounting bracket, double crank pulley and idler. I utilized a universal mounting bracket for "York piston" to "rotary" compressor installation. Installation of retroair's alternator with the rear power steering pump take off completed the job.

Trial fit.

I have the brackets and old compressor from a 1964 MK2 RHD that came from Japan to the US.

the only downside for a non original compressor besides originality is the loss of the isolation valves. Many times on a MK2 or similar the compressor needs to be removed to work on other issues. With the orig. valves you can isolate the system and you loose only a breath of gas. That said you can also use the valves to self vacuum the system to test and prepare for refill---very handy!

I have that chrome cross bracket with ancillary brackets. I could use it with the rotary compressor. It is likely not necessary. I have not yet decided. It may reduce stress on the main bracket to block mounting. What is the purpose of the side and bottom shroud cut outs?

You have added a pulley and an additional belt. they will need a place to run. That said these drawings are for the period Ac kit. Your angles and such may be a bit different. You do need the shroud though and it is a PITA to install!
