Default Steve Sheldon Regional Coordinator for the UK.

Hi Guys,
please help me to welcome Steve Sheldon onboard as the Regional Coordinator for the UK.

Steve will be taking sole responsibility for the moment, although we may be looking for someone In the Midlands area, with any Scottish cover coming from myself.
Steve has already organised the now famous Brighton meet events and is really up for the challenge. I'm sure he'll make a great addition to the team.

Fraser has held the position and helped to move the region forward, for which we are very grateful.
With 5 cars in the family and a member of several clubs, Fraser will surely be kept very busy.

Thanks Steve

Jim

Hi all - apologies for my absence but I have been moving house for a while now, or so it seems.. I am now officially moved but still paddling through boxes and bags galore.. My poor baby Jag has been very heavily used in the move so I now have even more chips and scratches to repair, and its a new record for me - 3 weeks since she was last cleaned!!! - I should become steadily more active as the weeks go by - so apologies again, and I will be back to normal service shortly :-)))) remember if you need to track me down and I haven't had a chance to get back on here (finally) you can always email me at stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk and give me a poke OK?

Steve,

Welcome to the team in your new role as UK Regional Coordinator. I know you'll do a great job.

Moving with the Jaguar . Don't they do van hire in Crawley!

LOL - we had a large Luton with three burly chaps for the day of the move - they moved all the big items - but we had way underestimated how many small items you amass when you have two children - so we ended up shifting huge amounts of stuff by car.. the baby Jag performed faultlessly but now is in desperate need of a thorough clean and some scratch and scuff removals.. sigh.. after the bulk of the move I took some items to the local tip and what should I find? someone with an XF there grin.. thankfully I have until the next Brighton meet to get my baby Jag back to some degree of presentability :-)

Thankyou for the welcome - I will try to settle into it more as the quantity of boxes and black bags slowly go down at home :-)

Welcome to the team Steve!

I used my poor old MKII for taking bags of a lath and plaster ceiling to the dump.

Just to let you know I'm working on Jaguar UK again to see if we can get some support from the manufacturer of our favorite cars :-) I will let you know if I get feedback and if we can strike anything up with them

Hi Steve and welcome to your new post, we haven't met but during summer months we run a single 1990 XJ40 Sovereign in Solent Blue, out of season we keep her in an outdoor Carcoon which for 6 years had been good but last year the outer cover split having been weakened by uv light, I had them do a replacement cover which was put into use in October, unfortunately the new cover is disintegrating already and last week went back to Carcoon under warranty.

Last year when putting the car on the road the fuel pump failed - gummed up with stale petrol or whatever they put in it. Got a new pump from SNG Barratt and had it fitted as I'm now too immobile to squirm underneath. Mainly I run on LPG and as the car is only used for pleasure now insured annual mileage is restricted to 1500.

Apparently only one photo is allowed!

Jim,

Sorry to hear about the Carcoon issues. I hope they provide a replacement under warranty.

There's no restriction on the number of photos you can add to a post. Just repeat the process to add more.

Hi Jim - Thankyou for the welcome to my new role, and very nice to meet you. I have complete respect for members such as you that are able to keep classic Jaguars running and looked after.. it is something I very much want to be able to do but am currently struggling just to get a chance to do *any* work on my X-type (the family taxi, house mover - you name it it is it :-( ) .. I'm sorry to hear about the carcoon problems - it's not something you often hear about as they do usually last years..
In addition to the pictures in your signature you can also build an album in your profile, of any pictures you want to show.. you may want to pop some picture there - it would be great to see more of your Jag..

Just so you know - I am still chipping away at Jaguar - I am hoping for a positive response but its that fine line between chipping away too much or not enough lol.. I will keep you guys informed if we get a response... it would be the ultimate for me if I can get them involved in the work we do promoting and appreciating Jaguar within our forums and with the wider public..

Graham, I did exactly that editing after my first post with photo, the result was that the 1st photo got wiped and replaced by the 2nd.

Many thanks FiveSpeed :-) I'm hoping to concrete the BiAnnual Brighton meets into the Brighton calendar over the next few events, and am working on Jaguar as we speak to try to get them onboard - all the while I can be of help to the Jaguar community here I'm more than happy to do my bit :-)

Just a very quick note to say that if you are planning a UK event, and would like some help with trying to get local dealership involvement, or want the banner available for your event, or anything in the way of running the meet list for you please just drop me a line I'll be more than happy to try to make your event as successful as we can
