Tibbe Key cutting in SW Ohio
Does anyone know of a locksmith or dealer that can cut Tibbe keys? I am in Dayton OH dos would appreciate any help from forum members. Thanks.
I am also in Dayton, trying to figure out the same thing. Apparently Ford cars used the same key in the 80s and 90s, there is a chance on of them might be able to do that. I'll call around today and see. Blanks are available on line for 10 dollars each.
Hi
I don't look at the regional forum much as there has been almost no response to posts; until yours!! Fyi I ended up buying a precut key see my post https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...cement-134200/ I searched locksmiths Dayton/Columbus/Cinci without success and jag dealers in Dayton and only found the Cinci Jag dealer could help but they didn't have key cutting capabilities just ordered one from Jag USA. I can recommend he UK key & cutting source - price was reasonable and delivery pretty quick ~10 days
I didn't see, from your post, what vehicle you have so I'm not sure if you need to program the key to the vehicle PATS?
PM me of you want to continue the dialogue
Good Luck

hafren, thank you for the reply. I have a 1993 xj6. I ordered key blanks on Amazon, 2 for 17$ and had Jaguar of Cincinnati cut them for $25 a piece. My car does not have a transponder (thank GOD), so the process went reasonably smooth. The new key also cured the no-start issue that I was experiencing with my original worn out key.
Just searched your "handle" and see you have an XJ40. I'm not sure if that uses a Tibbe 6 or 8 key? My XJ350 uses Tibbe 6 but the cutting and concept are the same just different blanks.
