Default rear shock replacement

I am planning to replace rear shocks on my '85 xj6. I was wondering if any one has any insight on the procedure?

Hardest part will be compressing springs. Not a real difficult job, just takes a lot of time. Replaced shocks on 12 and 6 took a few hrs. Put Konis on 12 and bilstiens on 6.

Thanks, Jagfixer One other thing, should you compress the springs before you take out the shock or will they come out as a unit and compress after?

To make it easier to come out without slapping in face, compress springs enough for the bolts to slide out. It can be done without compressing, you have to get car up so you have a lot of drop then springs will clear. Usually in driveway compress, on high lift axles will swing down low enough to take off compression.

Default rear suspention

thanks for the info. I'm going to take care of it this weekend. On an unrelated subject, does any one know of an inline fuse that jag put in for there audio/radio? mine after market deck completely shut down on me. all the fuses I can find are good and, all interior electrics work. again thanks in advance, joe

I found the audio in-line fuse under the drivers ash tray. It was only 2 amps. replaced it with 10 amp fuse to match the after market stereo.
