Team, first start with the obvious, replace the fuel filter. Secondly, get the car up on jackstands on the driver's side. You want to be able to put your head near the gas tank. Now, have someone turn the key to the "RUN" position (do not go all the way to the "START" position). You should hear the fuel pump run for about 5 seconds. If you don't hear anything, then that would tell me you have a bad fuel pump or the fuel pump is not getting any power. Unfortunately, the control module for the fuel pump is located on top of the fuel tank, so, what that means for you is that you have to drop the fuel tank to do any sort of troubleshooting. Dropping the fuel tank is a little bit of a bugger because of how it is mounted, especially if there is some gas in it.

If you want to tackle a project, you can drop the fuel tank and before hand, let me know and I will tell you which wires you need to check to prove parts good and parts bad.

lol so this car has 160,000 miles and that was the stock filter, it was clogged pretty bad but after all that still no start. fuel was in the lines and you can hear the pump turn on but no pressure...so pump is done right?

p.s if u have a diagram on how to replace it would be very helpful, dont know if im going to attempt it but just want to take a look

Team, before we go swapping stuff out, what I want you to do is to get into the car and look at the instrument cluster. Now, insert the key and and hold it in the "START" position for about 10 seconds. For the first 3, the security light will be lit. After three seconds, does the security light remain lit? IF so, the computer lost your programming and you need to have the keys reprogrammed to your car. That should allow the car to start.

If this doesn't fix your car, then I will give you the step by step instructions out of the JTIS CD. That will tell you everything that you need to do to get access for what you want to do.

Team, well, then it is looking like we are getting ready to drop the tank. We have pretty much ruled everything else out. If you have any questions about this, let me know and we will get you hooked up.
