2004 X-Type Water Temp Sending Unit connector/pigtail
I had a chipmunk build a nest on top of my engine. The little bugger ate the wires right off the top of the water temp sensor- the one that drives the gauge/idiot light. It ate the wires coming out of the connector. I was able to solder a couple of wires to make a temp fix- that was almost 2 years ago. One of the wires broke off yesterday. This makes the gauge go to max, the warning light come on & a message stating my coolant temp is high.
Anyone have a part number or better yet, have a source of supply for a replacement connector and pigtail? I was able to copy AMP on the top & the numbers 10737 11062 from the connector. Thanks in advance for your help.

I went to the Autozone and was unable to match up with any connector/pigtail in stock. They were able to cross one to a Duralast 679 and it will arrive in a couple of days. Looking up any connector for a 2004 Jaguar showed nothing. I forget what year/make/model we used to find this connector. As long as it fits, I'll be happy.
Hopefully the chipmunks have relocated. It's amazing how that little critter ate the wires right off the top of the connector.

Did you get the new connector? Did it fit? I had the same problem with rodents chewing on the wiring on my daughter's 1999 Camry. They chewed the coolant sensor and water temp sensor wiring along with some others. Haven't been able to find the connector, and the car is hard to start in the winter since the ECU thinks the car is already warm.
The connector I purchased from Autozone did not fit. It is keyed differently. I was able to carefully take the old connector apart & solder new pig tails directly to the female "pins" inside the connector. I have 40 years experience with electronics and assembling/disassembling Amphenol connectors. I have never had rodents chewed on anything other than the wires on this one connector. That is weird.
I will look for pics. There is a little tab that keeps the female pin locked in place. If you try and pull the pin without pressing in on the tab to release it, you'll destroy the pin.

Thanks for the help. I got replacement connectors from the local junk yard after no luck at the dealer or parts store. Car starts right up now.
Also saw a sweet Jag on my way into work today. I think it said X7 on the tail. Must have been an executive. I want one. Tried to look it up on the Jaguar website, but they're way too worried about putting a bunch of dumb celebrities on the site instead of showcasing their cars, and I got tired of fighting the site and gave up. Anyway it was really nice and I'll have to settle for one that's a few years old since I'm not an executive. HaHa.

That is an awesome clue in my quest to find a replacement pigtail for the coolant temperature sensor. So far, so good!
