Default 2006 X type wanting to add Phone (communication Module)

I Just got this 2006 X Type Jaguar and when I tried adding the phone it says NO PHONE on the screen so researching what I could find or ask .. I found the communication module was not in the rear drivers 1/4 panel
I did see where a baggy type plastic had 3 items in it, two connectors and 1 female fiber orange cable.

So I found a used Module and was hoping for a plug and play But the one plug fit in with that rectangular wired fit in fine ,,However the fiber optic plug is a female and so is the module

I don't know if their is another module a Bluetooth under the console that needs to be added and teh fiber orange cable now in the trunk is not for this unit

I was thinking of just removing the plastic jacket on the fiber that is in the trunk and connect it to the module and glue it in with silicone.. with the proper in and out direction to make it communicate

So my big question is can this be done? is it something that when adding you have to have a special scanner to allow it to communicate and any other problems I will run in to or not

Thank-you for the time and help along the way...daniel

Research member Dennis Black posts. He has pics, explanations, conversions, descriptions of standard and touch screen cars. Conversion to upgraded technology is a better option, but up to you.

WOW thank-you if I'm reading correctly the phone communication might not need to be programed in with a scanner , I just did not want to connect it to the harness and have the system disabled

is that correct if you know again thank-you for the help... daniel

It's been almost two decades since I installed things at the dealer.
I don't remember all the things required for the installation.

The D2B black optical fiber 'loop' needs to be installed and the modules need to be in a certain order.
The info should be in the documents I provided?

Yes thank-you very very help full it states that if I do not have existing devices ( which I don't) then I have to change the female to male Its states If I did have a cdc navigation etc I would need a extra cable.. I hoping from reading this "might " be a plug and play. I researching if I could just connect the fiber optics with out a sleave to test it .. ...daniel

Well getting closer... (lol)

I plugged in the black plug and the fiber optics even switched the fiber optics in different ports.. Good news did not damage the system but still did not communicatee hitting the phone button on the radio head

But what I can't find is in the instruction you sent they talk about the gray plug needing a voice control module otherwise system will not function not sure if harness will come with it or not...

how do I find that cable and where is it plug in to

Again

thanks for the help getting thier to see if I can have the phone working while driving. on the sysyem...daniel

So here's what I learned with the info : the gray plug is for the voice control module.. (that I will need to get) what I like to know is the original fiber plug tucked in does not light up

BUT, further checking the voice module that are for sale have the same plugs and part number as the communication module Im wondering if the other plug was for the CDC?

Still not sure if someone could tell me that possible it has to be reprogramed to work with my prior efforts

I also need the short fiber cable to plug in each module and then to the prewired fiber connector ,,

thank-you for any and all info: daniel

I was told that the fiber optics (where its has to be plugged in the phone / Bluetooth module ) has to be working its not where is the other end connected, I see the one in the trunk not sure if its behind the radio , glove box, or center console again thanks..
