Default 2008 X type grille insert

Im thinking of ordering the 2008 grille insert from mina gallery...but it says "painted" or "unpainted" --- what does "painted" mean? I clicked through the ordering process and there's no specification of color...does it mean primed?

These grilles need to be color-matched to the car. If you order it unpainted, that it will come with a white gel coat or primered. I ordered mine painted.

You can email Chris directly or phone him to make the order. From my experience, paint quality and color match is spot on, so you have nothing to worry about

What i do need is the whitest runnung lightbulb w/o going hid. I tried 194 silverstar and they are actually more yellow, lower wattage than stock. Auto shop said they would do...not the case. Any suggestions? The 194s wont go to waste tho ill put em in the overheads.

I used these

From here:
http://autolumination.com/194.htm

They match 6000k HID perfectly. I think anything 11mm diameter and under will fit, but I wouldn't go any larger (and there are plenty 11mm and under options).

Hey Lotus, you're talking about the little lights in with the high beam aren't you. I went out on EBay and bought little LED projector type 194 bulbs to replace the running lights and all the marker and license plate lights. They were 1.99 for 10 and 1.00 shipping. So for 2.99 I don't mind trying them, even if I know going in they are asian crap but like I said 2.99 delivered.

I have wasted >$100 on LEDs in experimentation. Typically the cheap ones are not bright enough and are dimmer than their halogen equivalents. The high beams need a little more output in my opinion since the area is so large to illuminate in there. I think you want something with 4 or more high output LEDs on the one 194 wedge bulb. The one pictured has 8 LEDs and as such it costs $12 for one bulb.

I just am trying to get away from the anemic looking running light. Really looks stupid when you figure in Canada the DRL is the actual lights (HID in my case) are always on. It's like having the auto light option except that I have to put on the lights (parking) to turn on dash lights at night. So brighter isn't really important, it's the color. I would prefer a white closer to the HID. Everything will change this summer when I pull off the bumper cover, then HID fogs are going in, an intake system, and I'll do real LED replacement. But I'm trying to right now avoid the hassle of resisters etc.
