Dennis thanks for your replies.
I have tried to look thru all your posts and I am still not quite sure where to solder the cables because I can't see it so clearly ..... also how do you get the aux to work? By pressing cdc ?
Sorry for the the questions, I am afraid the car audio stuff doesn't come naturally to me

Hi Dennis;
I think now I understand how this works, you put a blank cd in and have the aux function that way, correct?
I am trying really hard to figure out what 3 pins you used to solder the cables but I can't see them. Please let me know when you get a chance.
Thanks

I have one of these splattered all over my bench right now.
I am actually mounting header pins in the holes, and I'll use a connector to attach them rather than soldering.
When you insert a disk, a mechanical switch actually turns on the CD motor and audio; I plan to steal an unused switch (or add another) to send the signal to turn on the audio inputs without needing to spin up the motor and laser.
Pinout is attached.
