Default Brake Caliper Mounting Bracket Bolt ?

I can't seem to find any place that sells replacement bolts for the brake caliper brackets. I picked up a set of new slider pins that come with bolts for the sliders, but can't find any places for the other 2 ( the bracket bolts ).

Anyone have any links or part #'s ??

THANKS

myexcursion, go to your local auto parts store and ask them for the bolts that you are after, but for an 03 Lincoln LS (3.0L motor). Odds are, they will have those and those should be the same ones that you need for your Jag. Worst case, have them look at the Volvo S40 and/or the Mazda 3. All 3 of those cars should work for you.

Worst case, if you have one of the bolts, stop by your local Fastenal store and I am sure they can get you what you are after there. Might even have some luck at your local hardware store. I know a place like Lowes/Home Dept/etc are normally only stocking the metric bolts in 12mm or smaller range. So, that may be the last chance store since I seem to remember those bolts being around a 16mm or something in that size.

Awesome ! I'd prefer replacing them next time I do brakes instead of reusing them b/c I'm afraid that they might shear off of they are seized and I am applying too much torque to try to bust them off. My luck - that would happen and I'd be stuck with a half bolt in the hole and a whole lot of headache !

Thanks again - I'll check out the local auto store here and see if they have a hi grade replacement for those models... somehow whenever I say I need a part for a Jaguar either it's not stocked or the price is somehow 4x's higher for the same exact Ford part

You now know what Ford models use the same comparable parts in most cases. I always make the parts guys shake their heads when I start going down the list of related models.

You know it's strange that Rockauto, or Advance A doesn't even stock that bolt for either Jaguar or Lincoln ... Will have to go somewhere local with the part in hand to match up. Worst case will take a ride down to Lowe's like wa3ra mentioned and see if I can find it in the drawers - Thanks also to Wa3ra !

IIRC they were a 15mm on the fronts. Advance Auto usually has them, but naturally, they were out when I snapped one.

Yep 15mm up front. Just not sure the thread... and of course AA doesn't list anything online. May have to go there tomorrow.

and that's what I am afraid of - shearing/snapping one off when tightening or even worse trying to get one out next time and having the head snap right off in the bracket and no way to remove it without major headache

A little bit of anti-seize on the bolt before you put it back in works wonders for the next time you need to work on them.
