Just received my new Creader VIII to replace my old code reader that finally gave up the ghost. Had and engine light that came and went (P0333). But while playing around with the new scanner, ABS had a DTC of C1278 (steering wheel angle 1 and 2 signal fault). Searched the forum but nothing came up. No lights on and nothing to make you think something was wrong while driving. Went and read live data for steering angle and all looked ok. I cleared the code and am not going to worry about right now (have the P0333 to deal with) but was wondering if anybody had an idea of what may have thrown the code and should I be concerned? BTW: this Creader VIII can read loads of live data. Well, way more than $100 scanner could....

 

The DTC is for the DSC.
The fault could be YEARS old or a current fault.

If the DSC is operating then I would guess an intermittent fault.
