Default Can/should I buy a coolant reservoir cap from the parts store?

Hello all;

My tank reservoir is less than a year old, but the cap is broken and I suspect it's not dealing well. I went to O Reilly's and they have a part that will fit. Anyone tried these caps?

Thanks!

Is not about where you buy it is about the quality of the part. In this article: jaghelp.com: How to change the upper radiator hose on your X-type I recommend a brand that is not the cheapest one, because I beleive to be a good part for the money. Why do you want to change the cap again? Pic?

Hi Daxter, thanks for your reply!

I can't really take a picture of where the cap has separated because I fear if I remove it I won't be able to put it back together.

Lol, yeah you wouldnt want that. Well, something I learned as a mechanic is to be able to analyse a part and see if its made of good plastic and good quality. The cheapest one at the auto part store might fail you, I've seen some customers buy it and come back with a mess, but the cheapest at my autoparts and the cheapest at your auto store might not be the same. But the one I recommend is not that expensive. Is up to you. Good luck!

Dude, I totally missed the cap recommendation on your link. I am an idiot.

BTW that link on how to change the top hose would have saved me a world of hurt last month.

Thanks again !!
