Jaguar X Type 2.2 D

Cannot open the drivers door either from inside or outside with the key, the inside door handle looks like it’s in the open position and will not go back to the normal position. Any help much appreciated.

 

Unfortunately it is going to be necessary to remove the door card and access the mechanism. It is possible to remove the seat assembly and then remove the door card. Be sure to order some replacement fasteners for mounting the door card. They are fragile and do break. Once the card is off you can reach the mechanism and should find a rod that has to be press downward to release the latch.
